Overnight Oats

So these are staples in our house all year round.  I didn’t come up with the idea and if you google it you will come up with a ton of recipes ideas for them!  But here are the basics:

  1. Gather a few small mason jars, baby food jars or other glass containers you have around (with lids).
  2. Line ’em up.
  3. Count your jars.
  4. Take a big bowl and for each jar add in:
    1. About 1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
    2. 1-2 tbs of chia seeds
    3. 2/3 a cup or so of whatever liquid – I generally use almond milk that we make, but you could use any milk you fancy.
    4. Honey or Maple Syrup to taste (about 1 tsp  per jar is generally plenty)
    5. Whatever else you want to flavour it.  Our faves are Vanilla, Cinnamon and Maple ~ Apple chunks and Cinnamon – Banana Nutmeg Cinnamon – Banana, Coconut, Cacao ~ Strawberry or other fruits ~ Cinnamon and Raisins.
  5. Mix all the ingredients well.
  6. Spoon into the jars.
  7. Put on the lids
  8. Put in the fridge.
  9. Eat Them.  Seriously this step is actually the most important one.
  10. They will last 3-5 days in the fridge no problem.  Or at least they do in mine!

Ok so I actually add everything into the jars and mix them in the jars buts thats because there are less dishes that way.  I’m not sure it’s actually easier to be honest, but in my head it is. 🙂

There is plenty of protein and fat in these tasty babies, they are grab and go and you will be full for hours.

Eat Breakfast.  Seriously. Do it.

Simple Changes Change Everything

Ok! So here we go! For those of you who have the attention spans of goldfish scroll all the way down, there’s a video of this instead!!

Welcome! To those of you reading this in July 2016 you are joining me at the beginning of what I expect is going to be an insane and exciting journey!  On this website over the next year, we have plans to launch a TON of courses and material that me and some of my peeps have been working on for ages – some of it for over 15 years!

So what makes my stuff different from the other millions of courses and educational programs out there??

I’ve had a blessed life – I’ve also created some pretty ridiculous challenges along the way.  And if you stick around for a while, I’m sure I’ll spill some of the beans- both the beautiful and the not so pretty.  Let’s just say this isn’t my first rodeo.

Here’s the thing.  Being a human is not easy. And sometimes ADULTING SUCKS!! Our bodies, children, spouses – none of this stuff came with an instruction manual!!   And everyone seems to have a program out there claiming to help you fix what you need to in order to feel better.

First of all, let me say right away, you don’t need to be fixed.  I know, you probably don’t believe me and 10 years ago I would have told myself to shut the front door.  But its true.  And give me some time, I will prove it to you.

Yes life is hard.  But feeling empty, tired, stuck, exhausted, out of control? Trust me, that is harder.  And you don’t have to wait to start changing things.  You don’t have to wait for this thing or that circumstance to start making your life better NOW!  Stick with me – I won’t have to prove it to you – you are going to prove it to yourself!!!

This website, the newsletter, the videos – I did it myself mostly at 2am when the kids and dog  and my partner were finally asleep.  I don’t have any branding or marketing.  Most of the pictures I took on my phone, no filter and there are a lot of those #nomakeup selfies.  Not because I’m making a political statement but because #AintNobodyGotTimeForThat!  I have two kids under 5, run multiple businesses, a newish partner, I live with my (amazing) mom and we have a huge dog and 11 chickens.

In my courses and videos, you are going to see my messy kitchen and laundry on the floor.  I also swear. Like a fucking lot.

Why? Because that is REAL LIFE!  When I go to other program sites, I love their messages. We all want to live amazing lives and YES we deserve it!! But I’m intimidated by the gorgeous photoshopped pictures and the fancy branding. But it doesn’t seem real! And I feel bad enough about the weeks of laundry on the floor as it is! You feel me???

I want to teach you how to find the time in your day to start making simple changes – changes that I have seen transform entire lives given time and a little push.   I believe whole heartedly that you have to start with your diet and a few simple lifestyle changes.  If you change your plate, you will change your life.  You can change the world.

Over the next few weeks we will be launching our Weekly Kick in the Ass – tips for making simple changes that have powerful impacts along with a little bit of tough love for those moments when we “just don’t feel like it”.  Our flagship course “Foundations for Healthy Eating”  is going online.  We will also be doing some live webinars live from my messy kitchen as well as many more surprises.
